Nueva Casa de Martin-Martin

Well, I mentioned that there were going to be lots of changes in our future.  Some sad and some really great.  With the sad news of our friend's Erika and Ken leaving, we were able to move into their house which is much much nicer than our old one.  Don't get me wrong - I loved our house in Sauce, but with baby O here, it was important that we were closer and had a cleaner/nicer environment for him.

Mom and dad were champs and helped us move.  Luke and our friend Tyler were rock stars and moved all of our appliances and all of that good stuff.  I was so thankful to have all of there help so I could be with baby O.  I did a lot more of the organizing, which is move fun for me.

Overall the house looks amazing.  We installed two of our ceiling fans into the back rooms and our landlords are putting in a second air conditioning unit (tempting for any of those who want to come and visit).  :)  The yard also has a mango and avocado tree.

Here are some photos of the house to get an idea of what it looks like.  Next we are heading to Copan with Nonny and Poppy before they say goodbye.  I am not really sure how I am going to function without them.  After we drop them off we are heading to the consulate in San Pedro to get all of Owen's documents - including his passport hopefully.

Enjoy the photos and come visit!

 Owen likes our bed :)

Thanks Jenna and Elio for the table!

Jenna and Elio's Engagement Party

It is a time to celebrate in Honduras!  Two of our great friends here (Jenna and Elio) just celebrated their engagement with a rocking party.  They hosted the party near school at an awesome place and I just have to say that the party was fantastic.  We were able to eat, drink and dance the night away.

Elio loved to race before meeting Jenna and he has his biker friends come up from Te-goose.  Apparently, they are part of a group called the 'Iguanas' and we had a lot of fun talking to them and looking at all of their fancy bikes.

Enough typing - I will let the pictures do the talking.  :)

Happy One Month Baby O

It is hard to believe that Owen was born one month ago today.  So much is happening now it is crazy and I don't even know where to begin.

Owen is doing great.  We are all learning how to be a little family but so thankful that my mom and dad are here.  Owen loves his Nonny and Poppy and we have been very lucky to be able to alternate nights so we can all get some sleep.

Owen is growing for sure.  He is still tall and skinny with a big head but at his first appointment he gained an ounce.  We see the doctor again on July 5th so we will get to see how much weight he has gained.  He loves his bath time and tummy time.  He always starts to smile when you put him down and just let him hang out.  He is also the king of goofy faces and I love to take photos of him making them.

Because it was the end of the school year, Luke and I were invited to the Senior Prom that is held here.  It is a much different event than it is in the US and is more of a graduation celebration with dancing.  It was a lovely night and we went for a couple hours.  I was amazed at how hard it was to leave the little man but thought it was good to get out a little.

Although Owen is only a month old, he has gotten around.  We decided to take him on a week trip to Roatan that was amazing!  We decided to rent a house in Sandy Bay that was away from the crowded beach and would allow us to have some privacy.  It was perfect, with an infinity pool that overlooked the Caribbean.  We were also very lucky that we were able to bring the dogs with us too and they loved getting out as well.

While on the island we took Nonny and Poppy to Luke's students seafood restaurant and a really delicious Thai food place.  Nonny was able to eat lobster almost every night and Poppy enjoyed the shrimp.

Sadly, our trip had to come to an end but we have a lot of exciting things happening in the next couple days.  We will be moving into our new house which is a lot nicer and closer to school.  Sadly, this means that a lot of our friends are moving back to the States and won't be returning next year.  We are so excited for them - but sad for us.

Today we went to Helen's and took baby O to the beach.  Nonny and Poppy got to try their first fried fish and both really enjoyed it.  Nonny said it may have been her favorite meal in Honduras.  Poppy is getting braver and seems to be enjoying his trip to Honduras so far.  He isn't opposed to visiting again - where ever our next adventure takes us.

I will try to be better about updating for sure.

Cheers!
