My Sad Classroom Library

One thing that I have been trying to do in my classroom is make the classroom library something that my kids and fellow teachers could be proud of.  Sadly, what I have to start is... well, kinda sad.  I had my assistant help me go through the books to see which were in good condition (not falling apart) and which were age level appropraite - sadly, the photo below is the result.

It is because of this that I am asking you - my dear friends and family to help a teacher out!  I am looking for donations of books, new, used, old - whatever you have laying around in your house to add to my library!

One of my major passions and goals as a teacher is to create lifelong readers and I know that with your help we can make this classroom library something to be proud of!

So - like I said, if you have any old, used or new books laying around that are fun for a 1st grader - please consider donating them to my classroom, or passing my information to your friends and family if you think they may be interested in helping me out.

If it is easier for you to donate money - that is fine too and I can buy books on Scholastic or at Powells online.

Please send your donations to this address:

Thank you thank you and thank you again!  Please feel free to pass this information around.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at cary.martin@dole.com.

Cheers,

Cary and all of the 1st graders at Mazapan School
